Hand Embroidered Uzbek Suzani
Suzanis are some of the most classically beautiful embroidered pieces in the world. The word suzani directly translates to “needlework,” but to antique and textile lovers, it means something very different. The best and most authentic suzanis hail from Uzbekistan, where this particular antique piece is from. Traditionally used for dowries, bed covers, wall hangings, or tablecloths, suzanis are now not only found throughout small villages in Central Asia where they are created, but in glorious homes around the world. Most suzanis contain floral motifts, like this one.
